Nutrition & Weight Management

We’d like to ask you a few simple questions:

  • What are you feeding your pet?
  • Are you really certain it’s meeting their nutritional needs?
  • What about weight? Do you know exactly what range is healthiest for your animal companion?

Good nutrition and a healthy weight play an important role in your pet’s overall health and well being. The problem is, with so many choices and variables involved, unless you’re trained in animal nutrition, making sure you’re achieving optimum nutrition and the right weight for your pet can be a challenge.

If you were unable to answer the above questions with confidence, you’re not alone. What you need is some guidance from a professional. The team at Ceres Veterinary Clinic is experienced in all aspects of pet nutrition and we want to help! We’ll start with a thorough analysis to help us determine your pet’s specific nutritional needs so that we can create a food plan that will meet those needs. When your pet is eating right, you’ll notice a significant improvement in overall health and performance.

Next, we’ll move on to address your companion’s weight. Animals that are overweight are at a much greater risk of developing a number of serious medical conditions, some of which can be life threatening. Conversely, if your pet is underweight, he or she will not be able to adequately maintain good health, strength and performance. We’ll evaluate your companion to determine exactly what weight range would be ideal, and then work with you to develop a plan to achieve that goal weight, as well as maintain it over time.

It’s important to note that nutrition and weight management is not a one-time deal. As pets age, their health care needs change, as do their nutritional needs. It’s important that we take the time to reassess your pet’s plan from time to time to ensure that it’s still meeting those needs on a consistent basis. That way, if changes need to be made, we can make them in a timely manner, improving the outcome for your pet.

Want to help bring out the very best in your animal companion? Start by investing in their nutrition and weight control needs. Let the dedicated team at Ceres Veterinary Clinic develop a customized diet and exercise plan that will help your pet achieve and maintain optimum health for life!

I was a little unhappy with unexpected cost to get my Pink Princess better. However, I want to say that Ceres Veterinary Clinic has some amazing doctors and staff. I love how they care for your animal. It so cute how you see your dog name on the board outside when you walk up. They provide 5 star service! I'm very pleased with them.

Dr Cassidy is a very capable and kind professional. Our 14 year old beagle is generally a hot mess and no veterinary professional can believe he's still happy and alive so we appreciate her help keeping him that way and her advice how to keep him comfortable in his last years.
